Very thin, but great for collage
I primarily use rice paper for my printmaking. When I first ordered this I was surprised by how much more thin it was compared to the other brands I typically use. In the beginning I was telling myself I'd never order it again, but after getting the hang of working with a much thinner paper I've come to actually prefer it for collage pieces. It blends in so much better than the thicker rice paper. It's not really substantial enough to use on its own unless I'm printing a lot of layers on it, and then it kind of builds up a thickness if that makes sense. I work on a Gel Press printing plate, and I love how this paper is thin enough it can pull up every little detail, but substantial enough it doesn't easily tear. I've since purchased it 3 more times, and will continue to use it as my go to collage paper. It's almost like deli paper with the exception that most deli paper isn't meant for artwork and it's really hard to find any that state if they're acid free.

Great option for making your own collage papers!
I love the sensual aspect of making art offline rather than digitally even though it means more mess and art supplies. This paper is a wonderful way to add another type of texture. It works especially well for thin papers that can be layered well in collage. I'll be recommending this to students in my online creative courses for making their own collage papers with paint and designs. It is quite thin so it does require that one handle with care and be gentle when adding paint. Yet, that same quality is what makes for more subtle edges in collage. It might work well for making your own decorative scrapbooking embellishments as well. It also scanned well. I've uploaded a sample from early play with watercolor paint to see how it went. So, it could be turned into digital designs, too. Glad I gave it a try!

Excellent paper for sumi ink
This paper is excellent for Japanese brush painting especially for a class in which you may use many sheets to practice. As expected sumi ink bleeds through to the back especially if it has been diluted to get a lighter tone. The felt mat recommended to go with the paper absorbs the ink and provides a soft background for the brush strokes. The size provides lots of room to practice brush strokes.

Nice thin art paper, but it wrinkles when really wet
Good translucency for tracing, light touch, or calligraphy, but it does wrinkle w a lot of paint or very wet medium. Ive been trying several new papers lately, (for gelli prints ) and been a awhile so i do hope Im reviewing correct one. Adds character for a collage paper or mixed media, but also need a non warpy one.

Use with my Gelli Plate
Paper is great! Just do a test one to make sure you have paper on the right side. I find the shiny side needs to be out!

Worst calligraphy paper ever! Returned immediately.
This is the worst calligraphy paper I have ever used and that is saying a lot after 30+ years of calligraphy work. The description says it’s used for traditional Sumi Inc. drawing, painting, black printing, watercolor etc.… I cannot see any way this product can successfully be used with Sumi ink, or any paint. It literally dissolved if I stopped too long writing a stroke. The paper is thin and soft, and has no body at all. Tissue paper has more stiffness. The ink spreads faster than anyone can write and bleeds through to the other side, onto the guard sheet. (Please see photos.)I can’t even recall a worse paper! I returned it.If you’re looking for even practice calligraphy paper, this is not it. I recommend Clairfontaine, Rhodia, Strathmore, Sennelier, Tomoe River, and so many more ~ all far better than this paper. Even my cheap printer paper is preferable.

BE WARNED: Extremely poor shipment packaging by Amazon
UPDATE: I like the product but have now attempted to re-order it twice and Amazon insists on shipping it in a bubble envelope rather than a box. Paper arrives damaged and creased every time!!! I can't keep returning these and expecting to get it shipped properly next time. Never again.I have been using this for printing my wood engravings and it is working better than most of the other papers I have been experimenting with lately. I print mostly by hand or using a tiny book binding press and the paper prints blacks very solid and shows even the most delicate lines. The paper is VERY thin (gossamer would be a better word, if my eighth-grade vocabulary is serving me right) to the point of being a little translucent so it probably won't be good for everyone's tastes. But it's so cheap, why not give it a try?
