ThermoWorks DOT — Chefs’ Favorite Simple Alarm Thermometer - Cayenne Pepper Red

I have tried many, many cordless thermometers but they have all either been too hard to use or were totally useless. I bake 4 loaves of sourdough honey wheat oat bread. I was always guessing when they were done. This thermometer is so simple to use and it makes the bread come out at the right temperature. I never have to guess. I set it for 204 and weight for the breads internal temperature to reach that. Then it goes off. And keeps going off until you shut it off. The bread is perfectly done. To clean it, I take a cup, fill it with water and put the end in there to soften up the harden bread remaining on it. Then while I’m washing dishes I just take it out and wipe it off, rinse it and I hang the cord over it or over a magnet clip so that way the cord doesn’t get tangled and break.

This thing is great! It's expensive to cook beef tenderloin, and I have on occasion over or under cooked it which is very disappointing. Having to open the oven to stick a thermometer in for a reading is inconvenient, and it's not a good practice as too much heat escapes. This little dot thermometer works great! I stick it on my stainless fridge which happens to be right next to my oven (which is not metal/magnetic).It's very accurate, and results in perfectly cooked meats.

Quick read digital thermometer. Probe is sturdy and cord is a good length for use in my kitchen. Alarm is audible but not obnoxious.

Fabulous! It’s not fancy, but it is extremely reliable and accurate. I didn’t need Bluetooth or cell phone enabled. I just needed a great accurate reliablethermometer and this fit the bill. On its first use, I cooked a whole beef tenderloin. It let me know when the temperature was perfect and the dinner was served to rave reviews from all of the guests. I have to give at least 80% of the credit to this little dot …there’s nothing worse than $150 piece of meat that gets overdone or is underdone this one was absolutely perfect thanks to my new dot

This device is a game changer. Super easy to use, works perfectly. I tested it side by side to my one remaining Traeger probe (my 2nd Traeger probe stopped working) on my smoker and it matched up perfectly. The Dot can be used on the grill and in the oven for perfect cooking temperatures. Key to cooking on the smoker is to cook to temp, not time, and with the DOT you can ensure perfect cooking temps every time. Loved the ability to set an alarm for key temps and then change them on the fly.

Works good, alarm goes off when it reaches your set temperature. The magnetic base makes it very usable
