Q: Is the main unit wall mountable?

Yes there is a recess at the top middle to hang the unit on but just tried and the hand set falls off and not secure so I would say no Hope this helps

Q: Is there any way to have the phonebook sort entries from a to z? They seem to only appear in order of addition.

Not sure I think you press phonebook and then the key for the letter your contacts name begins with.

Q: Do you need to touch a button to answer ?How easy is phone to answer ?

The phone has 2 modes, one where you can pick the handset up to answer the phone the other requires you to pick the handset up and push a button to answer the call. Thank you NewEra Tech.
