Fantastic combo for a steal of a price
This is an awesome rod for the price I still can't believe I got it so cheap! Shipping was fast and the rod/reel was in perfect brand new shape when I received it. Very easy to use if you are a beginner. This thing has a very functional smooth reel. Castability is great I can cast it a mile with a heavier bait. Rod is the perfect size and very lightweight, strong and the quality is nice. It has plenty of flex to where you can feel every bite. Shocked that it was in this price range would recommend it to anyone especially new anglers on a budget!

great rod for the price
Bought this planning to use it for panfish, maybe some trout. Put 4lb line on it, took it out the first time, and caught a 6lb bass. This rod handled it like a champ, good drag on the reel, good bend on the rod. I've owned several rods, including some high-end ones. This rod is not high-end by any means, but for $30, it's a great rod + reel for the price if you're a beginner or on a budget. This rod is highly recommended

Nice rod for the price
Bought this rod for my son and he used it for the first time this past weekend and he said it works well, he likes the way it casts and it is very light weight.

Good for the price
I’ve been fishing with this for three days now and this rod/reel combo seems to be a great value. The rod is very sturdy but has decent action. I can still feel my lures on the end of the line. The reel is not the best but it works. I’ve noticed that it seems to grind a little when the drag is high, so I oiled it but no change. As a result, I keep the drag low and it’s a pretty smooth reel. I haven’t really tested it yet but based on the price I’d buy it again

Good reel, you still should buy
When I received the package the fishing rod was broke past the reel seat. So I could not test the rod. Reel is what was expected. So can only give 3 stars for 50%.

Great rod/reel combo for the someone learning to love fishing
Bought this as a b'day present for a 10 year old. He was already enthusiastic about fishing, but his equipment was pretty lame (last year's b'day gift!). This combo represents equipement that can be used for years without any apologies about quality. It is pretty lightweight, but for freshwater fishing should be just fine (maybe better than fine).It doesn't come with line, so don't forget to order that too . . .
