Great Beginners Drone - Easy to Use
Finally had a chance to really get out and use this for a while. Let me start by saying, the initial set-up for me was a breeze. Downloading the app, connecting to the drone and the remote pairing, all went very smooth. The only real wrinkle of any kind was when connecting to the drone through my phones WiFi settings, my phone kept asking if I wanted to continue since the connection had no internet access. But that was my phone and not the drone. Make sure you follow the steps laid out in the instructions (they also are show when you start the app) and everything syncs up fine. Be sure to do the compass calibration as well. This is very important. On to the flying. I had tested it in a limited capacity to see that things all connected and worked. I had played around with the auto take off and auto land, as well as the return to home. All of that worked great. Then I finally got to go to a wide open area and fly it. Winds were a little gusty at around 8 to 10mph; but the drone did a good job of holding position with little drift. I took it up to about 60 feet or so and out over a river to get some footage. I had no issues at all. Controls were easy to use, the app performed fine, and the camera did too. Now, this camera is not stabilized on a 3 axis gimble, so don't expect cinema level footage. You are going to get some shake and movement. But this is a beginner drone. I payed $125 for it. I don't' think you will find any 3 axis gimbles in the price range. What I did get was nice, clear HD video that I am happy with.I then played with some of the functions like Follow Me and the Orbit/POI. The issues i had came from my unfamiliarity with how they worked. I went back to the book and refreshed my knowledge, and I was able to get both to work fine.In the process of using the Follow Me function, I inadvertently tested out the durability of the drone as well. I forgot to turn off the function, and in walking back to my car to retrieve something, I accidentally led the drone into a tree. Upon retrieving the drone, I found it was none the worse for wear, and I was able to immediately relaunch with no issues. Obviously, it does not have automatic obstacle avoidance. The batter life is as advertised , and I got 20 to 25 minutes of flight time from the charge. Also, I weighed this on a postal scale, and it came in under the 249gm mark, so no FAA registration to worry about. Be sure to get your TRUST certificate though.I am pleased with the purchase and feel like it is a solid value. I look forward to spending more time flying this drone.

Great little lightweight drone and holy stone has great customer service
I'm a recreational drone user. I enjoy flying them around in different areas to get a new view of areas I've been to a million times but never from the air.I would say the drone has great amounts of pros and not many cons.Pros1) (both pro and con) since it's lightweight and under 0.55lbs you don't need to register it with FAA.2) battery life is great. I have yet to use my drone long enough to use up a battery.3) easy control, great for beginners. The device is great at auto hovering which is helpful for new drone users.4) decent camera for the price. Drones have such variety of types out there. Some with nasa quality cameras lol... Some like this that take pretty good pictures.5) (pro and con) customer service is very helpful.Cons1) very lightweight and the wind gusts may drag it away from you so I recommend days with no wind and gentle breeze.2) no accessories on Amazon or the holy stone website for hs710. I had to contact Holy stone directly to get ahold of their supply manager for extra batteries and wings3) wings don't take much to scrap up, could be made out of stronger material.4) I wish it hand the landing "gear" because landing on its belly always worries me. Plus ones with landing gear allow for easier landings in different environments. In summary I am very happy for this purchase. I am just a rec driver drone user so I cannot speak from a business side.If your an adult and looking for a drone for beginners, this might be a good purchase. But I would add that this is probably one of the higher up drones in terms of beginner use. HS has many lower, cheaper, drones for beginners as well if you want to start with something less expensive in the event you crash.

Updated second review
Well, I will call this an updated review. This is the second one that I received, that's because the first one would not connect with my phone. Cause the green is awesome. I love the color it's so much easier to fly than any of the other drones I've had which I've had like 4 of them, and I guess you get what you pay for I'm very happy. This drone seems to be done. You're flying fine, connects to the phone easily. It just takes a little patience, or a kid to fly it. The joysticks can be a little touchy and make it go.But other than that, I love it.
