Beat the rest
The OWC travel hub is the best I've found. I've tried many others and they are all rubbish, fail on many occasions. This is up to OWC standards and is rock solid. My problem has been HDMI video flickering and cutting out, the others all fail at this. The OWC is almost perfect, but not quite. But acceptable reliability and not a bad price.

Good quality hub
Only one problem. The lead connecting the hub to the computer is very short making it very difficult to assemble the six device connecting cables and keep the hub connected to the computer. Supplying an appropriate extension lead would be very helpful.

It does support 4K@60hz
I see people claiming it does not do 4K@60hz, while other people say it does. I decided to try it out and see for myself. Interestingly, one of my laptops does output 60hz but the other can only go to 4K@30hz, so what's the deal? After some research, I found that it depends on the thunderbolt controller. Notably machines with the Intel Alpine Ridge thunderbolt can only give 4K@30hz on this dock and later models with the Titan Ridge controller output 60hz without problem. That means thunderbolt ports on Intel machines roughly before 2018 cannot get 60hz on this dock, so please double check your thunderbolt controller version before buying this.If you cannot find your thunderbolt port controller model, one thing to watch out for is whether your thunderbolt supports DisplayPort above 1.2. If your thunderbolt is DP 1.2, then there is good chance that you cannot get 60hz because DP 1.2 is limited to 4K@60hz and the dock has to divert some of the bandwidth for other ports like USB, leaving not enough lanes for HDMI 4K 60hz. If your thunderbolt supports, say, DisplayPort 1.4 (8K@60hz), then there is certainly enough bandwidth for USB ports and an HDMI 4K 60hz signal.Luckily, my laptop connected to the dock does give 60hz so I won't say it is false advertising, but the reseller should point out this caveat so people know whether this dock can work for them.Edit: After one year the Ethernet port would just randomly disappear. It happens to Windows, macOS and Linux but there's no error message or anything. Once in a while the Ethernet reappears and it works fine, but after a couple of reboots it disappears again and there's nothing I can do to bring it back. One star off because without Ethernet people should just buy the non-Ethernet version of the dock.

Does NOT output 4k@60hz..only 30Hz
Really disappointed. It states 4k@60Hz when it actually outputs only 30Hz max at 4k. I tested it against another product which actually did output the machine at 60hz so its either being falsly advertised or my particular item is defective.

Very practical
Has all the connections for media transfers. Small and practical. Great quality

This is a fantastic dock, even if you use it full time at a desk.
I bought an no-name brand dock during the pandemic that served for several years, but the cable it came with failed and it refused to work with replacement cables! Having had good experiences with other OWC products I purchased this dock to use at my desk with an external monitor, ethernet, keyboard, mouse, MIDI controller, and USB audio interface. It really makes up for the MacBook Air not having any of these ports! It works very well, although I found the built-in cord to be too short for connecting it to my MacBook Air when it is on the laptop stand. I bought a 1 meter braided heavy-duty USB-C extension cord to use with it, which is absolutely perfect for my setup.
