My Grandson like it.

The book motivated me to look closer to TDD. Other advises on estimations, time management, personal process are very useful. I was glad to read that the flow state, so popularized last decades, is really not that good for disciplined and effective programming. I had the same intuition.

Simply amazing, what a Lot of worth things. And the videos are very explainfull. If you want to master TDD and become in an great developer.. you must read it!!

Amazing book on TDD but disagree with a few other points in it that definitely are only from a management/company owner perspective and backed up by cringe fake convos

Ich besitze, soweit es mir bekannt ist, jedes Buch von Robert C. Martin (Uncle Bob). Das sagt schon alles aus, was ich von dem Autor halte. Er ist einfach ein Programmier Gott. Er hat ein ganzes Leben lang Erfahrung und das spürt man in jeder Zeile auch dieses Buches. Er macht sich Gedanken, wie man einen so komplexen Vorgang standartisieren kann, um die Qualität von Software zu verbessern und er ist auch in seinem Alter jederzeit bereit dazu zu lernen und sich zu verbessern. Programmierer, Vorbild und Lehrer sind die Begriffe, mit denen ich ihn am besten beschreiben kann. Dieses Buch ist wie alle seine Werke lesenswert für diejenigen, die vorhaben an sich zu arbeiten und bessere Programmierer zu werden. Ein wesentlicher Schwerpunkt in diesem Buch ist das Test Driven Development (TDD).

Great recap of Agile practices like TDD, Refactoring, and collaborative programming. The author aims both for breadth and width, covering a wide range of topics (including historical backgrounds), yet also going into details with a classification of test doubles, several programming examples (some even captured on video), and a deep dive into the history of version control.The second half of the book pivots from the technical to the soft-skill topics of customer / manager relations, estimations, and quality. The author argues for a professional code of ethics that every programmer should adhere to, and shows how each rule is motivated by Agile practices.If you liked previous books from Uncle Bob, you'll certainly love this one, too. As the fifth book in this series, it's a bit jumbled almost by nature, but the mixture of technical and social stuff also gives the book a nice balance. To me, it's astounding that Uncle Bob still comes up with new insights, and his contagious enthusiasm makes you want to become a better developer, too.
