Very quiet
Nothing fancy, inexpensive and easy to drop in replace my Hayward 1.5hp. I bought the Asurion 4 year warranty for $32 so am not worried too much if it doesn't last more than 4 years at the price I paid. Having said that, quality looks good, easy self prime and seriously quiet on both hi speed and almost silent on low speed. Seems to push water well with either speed. Time will tell on the durability.

Great pump!
Good quality. Two settings and easy to set up. Much more efficient and does not make much noise. Will see how long it last.

A great fit
I was hesitant to purchase because it was so cheap. I bought it because it fit my needs and I wanted to experiment with cost savings during peak hours while maintaining pool cleanliness. It has only been about 5 weeks, but the pump works well at high speed (not as much flow as my old Hayward, but I did the calculation and it is more than adequate for our 24X16 oval. And at low speed it keeps my solar heater pumping in warm water while reducing my electric bill by at least $45/month (running low speed during peak hours of 1-7 pm). ROI should be about 4 months.Everyone’s situation is different, but this was a great fit for us and I am very happy with this product.Update: finished the pool season and all is well. It does have a (frequency?) whine to the pump at low speed, but no issues. I would recommend

Great price but no warranty
This pump is about 1/3 the price of the Hayward pump it replaced and fortunately for me, it has the same size fittings in the same location as the Hayward pump which made replacing it quick and easy. The pump is running fine so far so lets compare it to the Hayward it replaced. The size and fittings between them is the same in both size and location, and as said above, makes it a fairly easy replacement. The mounting plate is not exactly the same and required me to drill new holes in the filter base to mount it but that is not a big deal to meThe Hayward pump assembly is heavier than this one and and since the pump itself looks about the same, most of the added weight is in the motor. I would say that the Hayward motor is a heavier duty motor. The motor on this unit runs warm but not hot in low speed and cooler on high speed, probably due to the motors fan moving more air on high speed. The Hayward probably moves a bit more water than this pump in both speeds but really not enough to cut this pump down for it. Sound wise, they are about the same with this one slightly louder on low speed and slightly quieter on high. Either way, this pump runs quietly enough not to disturb anyone. The one true downside to this pump is its lack of real warranty. The only real warranty it has is Amazons return policy and the tag in the box actually says to deal with the seller for short term issues. They do offer a 1 year extended warranty but for most of us, it is completely useless. In order to activate it, you need to have the pump professionally installed. The price to have this done in many cases can wind up costing as much as the pump itself. If the pump does fail within this extended warranty, you need to send it shipping prepaid to the manufacturer. This means that you have to pay for shipping both ways. The cost of both the install and the shipping both ways would more than exceed the cost of just buying a new pump so effectively, there is no warranty past the Amazon return / exchange window.I honestly don't expect this pump to last as long as the Hayward pump it is replacing but at 1/3 the price, if it lasts half as long, it is still a bargain. If it fails before the season is over, I will update this review but as for now, it is doing what it was bought to do.

Dual speed pump for solar heating!
I'm so happy that my Hayward pump stopped working after years of use. While searching for a new pump this dual speed pump was recommended. I use solar heaters with a water flow valve to slow the water from traveling through the heaters so quickly so the water has a chance to heat. Slowing down the water flow made my pump work harder and increase energy usage. With the new two speed pump, I turn on the pump at 12pm close my flow valve and set the speed to low. The water flows slowly through the heaters until 4pm then I bypass the heaters, switch the valve for full filtering, switch the pumps to 1.5hp full flow until 7pm. My pool is now heated and filtered perfectly. Saved energy as well!

Cheaply made
My kids have waited long enough so I’m not bothering with returning it and all that we need to get the pool going but we bought this back in may just opened the pool today and when we hooked up this pump we discovered a lot of issues first off the most major issue was a huge leak in the front of the pump where the glass cover goes it was cracked from the very top to about 1/2 inch from the bottom I have went through 3 bottles of silicone plus a can of flex seal tonight to try and stop this leak. The lid is another issue it leaks it don’t seal properly but I can deal with that issue. So just be aware that this product out of the box had a ton of issues and damages. I would not recommend buying this I plan on using it until mid July and then we will just pay the price for the Hayward cause this was a big waste of money. I’ll post pics of the giant crack you can see for your self and the trouble I’ve went through with a brand new pump !

Very quiet and strong enough !!!
The pump it’s very quiet and it moves a lot of water in the high setting . The lower setting it’s plenty to move enough water through a 12” sand filter with a handy valve connected to a 1” irrigation pipe for solar power heating that it’s about 120 feet of pipe in a circle, my pools heats up to 90 degrees . I have a 2500 gallons above ground pool for the kids . I use a timer to power the pump on and off and I had no issues with the plug . The change over adaptors to connect other hoses aren’t that great, I would recommend buying another type to avoid headaches . Overall it’s a well made pump and easy to clean the skimmer .

So far so good
Replaced my Harris pump which died and found this as an affordable option with fast shipping. So far so good and I love the fact there is an on/ off switch with variable speeds low and high. It’s a steal of a price with those options alone. Pretty simple install and really quiet compared to the other models I have used. I also invested in the aftermarket warranty just in case but seems to be working well and I have no complaints.
