I have this mounted to my camper trailer and use an old iphone for receiver, very few signal drop outs, give nice view of lanes behind as passing on highway, very helpful when backing (marriage saver)I mounted mine top rear of camper and hooked power to my running light as when I pull a camper I always use headlights, simplified wiringI waited until I had some time with it before reviewing (year so far) and am very pleased with it

I should have purchased one of these a long time ago. I've always worried about our horses when we transport them. I just installed the camera prior to pickup the latest addition to our family and I'm so happy to be able to have eyes on them the entire trip. The installation was very easy after finding a constant 12v wire in the trailer. I installed 2 (Rectangle Countersunk Neodymium Magnet 2x1x1/4" w/ 2#6 CouterSunk Holes on North Pole - 35 LB Holding Force for Direct Pull, Very Strong and Powerful - For Industrial, Home and DIY - One Piece - available on Amazon) on the mounting bracket and just place it the rear gate of the trailer. When the trip is over I store it inside away from the weather. The IOS app worked perfectly and connected right away.The camera is a 5 star product. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the mounting bracket is too short to fit the antenna and position the camera horizontally. Otherwise this is a great camera and a great value.

To be honest it's just ok. I bought it to use on the back if my 26' travel trailer and it won't provide a strong enough signal with the antenna it comes with to reach my LG G3 phone when it's inside my truck. Also, the app doesn't work on my Pixel 2XL which has the newest version of Android. I contacted the seller and asked for the better antenna they claim to have and then sent me the same one that came on it. I've since ordered a different bigger antenna to try out in the hope it will work. Otherwise this will all be for nothing and I'll just take the thing off and get the name brand one next year. Video quality is good. App works fine on a phone that works. I do wish it had a wider angle lens though.

If you are thinking about putting this on your 53 foot dry van trailer with a conventional tractor with sleeper look for another product. Didn't even work when I move it closer 10 feet. Doesn't work with my note 10+ but does on my iPhone 7+ works 100 feet out with CLEAR line of sight. If you have a car with trailer and an iPhone I think it's worth a try. Once connected shows clear you can flip the image incase you want to point it forward. Two wires +/- and your done.

I have mounted the camera on the rear of our 30' trailer with the antenna sticking just above the roof line. Tied the power into the marker lights so the camera gets power whenever the headlights are on - this is a plus. Reception of the wifi signal on my phone (iPhone 7 in a dash mount) is spotty. Sometimes it will connect and other times not even though my phone is well withing the 100' range advertised - probably around 50' in actuality. At the moment I am attributing this to reception problems due to the signal blocking that would result from the signal trying to pass through any trailer. I am going to attempt to relocate the antenna forward on the trailer using an extension cable. IF this improves the signal, I will probably boost the overall rating. Durability seems like it would be good with the all metal chassis but since I have just installed the camera I will withhold any ranking for now.

I waited to post this review for the backup camera because I have purchased one in the past and I found it very difficult to install and half the time it didn't work. But this camera only took a few minutes, instructions were easy to understand and follow and so far it works like a charm. AND I do not have to worry about someone breaking into my car and stealing a stand alone screen because this works with my cell phone! I am very pleased with this camera and now my husband doesn't have to worry I will back his truck into anything .... Again!

It looks and feels like a quality unit but that's where the quality stops. Now to be fair I'm not sure if it's the camera or the app but one without the other renders it useless. My wife and I have the same phone but worth my phone the app won't detect the camera but with my wife's phone it picks up just fine BUT it did work on my phone for a day.. I need this working on my phone not my wife's as I intended to watch our 5th wheel trailer hitch as we travel. DO BETTER WITH THIS EXPENSIVE JUNK!!

I just connected the power wires to my camper lights, added the app to my phone and connected it to the wifi. It works when I turn on my camper lights!

What I like is it is easy to install.The big problem for this camera is it's range. Vendor claims the signal range is 100ft. My driver seat to the back of trailer is only 30ft. Signal is only good when I stand beside the camera. Signal is very week when I dives my car. Camera display is not continuous.

The advertising is a little confusing in so far as it looks as if it comes with a screen, it does Not. It is a shame because I liked the spec. Other bad point is there is no name or contact point which always puts me off buying something. If weight = quality then it is well built as camera is quite heavy, I have a 4,300 K trip to make shortly with cargo trailer, so need a sturdy built unit. My impression is this would have done the job OK if it had a screen

I installed it in place of the center clearance light. Don't be afraid to shorten the supplied cable.... I did not have space to feed it all into the trailer wall. Connected to my cell immediately and no money or dashboard space wasted on anothe monitor.

The app that links the phone and camera doesnt work on android even tho it clearly says it does. Now I have holes in my camper because I had to remove and return. Save you time and money and buy something else

This camera is great value. Easy to set up and use. I like viewing it on my iPhone rather than a separate screen as its one less thing cluttering my dash. The phone is already there. Just wish the app for it was compatible with apple car play so it would transmit on my trucks big dash screen.
