Perfect replacement

This was a perfect fit for a 2011 Toyota 4Runner. The OEM one was essentially gum at this point. Appearance is that of a quality, well made product. Really super easy to install, the hardest part is getting all the old cover off. You can pop the handle down and rotate it slightly counterclockwise to make some space and pick at the pieces of the old cover. Denatured alcohol will get any remnants off. The cover is directional, so make note of which way it comes off.

Trunk Rear Hatch Liftgate Door Handle Switch Latch Cover Release Button Rubber Cover

Purchased this for my 2008 Prius and it's working great. The screws are a pain to get out and back in as well as removing the melted rubber from old rubber release. After a lot of work I got the screws out without having to take my car apart (videos on you tube). Concentrated Krud Kutter and a small flat head screwdriver works for removing melted rubber. When I removed some of the rubber I used a plastic bag to clean off my screwdriver each time and when I got it mostly cleaned off I used Krud Kutter to remove the rest. It can be time consuming doing this.

An affordable fix

Great price! The fit was perfect and the liftgate cover was “easy” to install (once I got the old one off that had melted, that is. Cleaning the switch was a pain—and the YouTube videos wisely cut that step out). Be prepared to pick up a few fasteners/retainers to put the panels back. Very happy with the fix. About $18 and 60 minutes… far cheaper than the dealership!

Worth the work

This worked great on my 2010 Sienna. Like others have said, this takes some work to remove the original screws and latch and to scrape/remove all of the goop from the original latch cover. The picture is of the best tool combo I found to remove and reinstall the screws. Vice grips and a #2 screw bit. The supplied screw driver just didn’t have the right angle on my van to be affective.Mask off the car around the latch and take your time and you can back the screws out. Once cleaned up, take the washers off the original screws to keep the screws from binding on the new rubber and install the new screws before putting the latch back. This lets you cut threads with the new screws to make them easier to install. Back them out, install the switch, then drive them back in in your newly cut threads. I hope that helps! Took me about 45 minutes with about 17.63 minutes of running for tools. Start with the right tools and this is an easy way to make your family happy and keep the black funk off your spouse’s fingers.Final hint: orange soap with walnut shells takes the goo right off your fingers when you are done if you couldn’t handle the small screws with gloves on like me.

Could be better

The tool that came with it was not the right size. Once we found tools that did work it went on fine.

Fit my vehicle trunk switch perfectly

I ordered this cover to replace a worn one over the trunk lid switch on my 2011 Toyota Avalon. This cover comes with two screws and a small, angled screwdriver but no installation instructions. I searched online for a video that shows how to remove and replace the switch cover. The rubber cover itself fits just like the original one and is simple to install with the two screws. The angled screwdriver was extremely difficult to use, and I abandoned it for fear of damaging the head of the cover’s Philips screw. Instead, I bought an inexpensive long shaft screwdriver which worked very well to remove and replace the screws. The time consuming aspect, which is not a fault of this part, is removing the thick, melted rubber goo left from the worn cover. It is a laborious task involving lots of careful scraping with a flat device like a flathead screwdriver or a plastic case opener and some rubbing alcohol. Once all of the old debris is cleaned off, it takes less than a minute to screw on the new cover.Overall, this was a very inexpensive DIY repair that surely cost much less than paying the Toyota dealer to do it. Just be sure to watch a video online beforehand so you’ll know exactly how to do it.

Good replacement for my Toyota

Bought this to replace the worn out liftgate switch rubber on my Toyota. The included tool did not work since the screws on my liftgate were at a very weird angle. Ended up having to take apart the entire trunk to access the liftgate switch. Otherwise the product seems to fit fine. Time will tell how long it would last.

Does the job

Fit good, tool included to remove screws on a Sienna is no good so used own tools. Happy with purchase so far.

It fit my 2007 Camry Hybrid perfectly.

My OEM rubber cover had somehow deteriorated into a horrible gooey mess that rendered the switch inoperative. It was a difficult cleanup job with lacquer thinner and a small brush, but the old one eventually melted off. The new rubber cover fit perfectly and works very well. I recommend it!
