Fair pump

I use this pump in a waterfall that runs from 6 am till 9 pm daily. I only get about a year out of a pump but haven't found anything better.

Great pump

Works like a champ. Customer service from LIttle Giant helped find this model as my old one was discontinued.

Poor product, worse customer service.

Within a month, the performance started dropping, by 2 months can't deliver a drop of water to 6 feet, supposed to produce 60 GPH @ 10'.Contacted manufacturer via their website, after 2 business days (4 calendar days) other than the automated acknowledgement of my submission, no contact.Poor product, worse customer service.Sue's spouse.

Does exactly the job I need, reliably

I've bought three of these pumps over the past 30 years for a backyard fountain application, in which the pump tends to last about a decade before eventually corroding out. In general I've been completely satisfied with them (and I presume the reason that Little Giant continues to make the model after so long is that many people are). The design has varied slightly over the years. The model I got this time has a black all-weather exterior, not blue as shown in the photo, and there have been small changes in the design of the impeller and its housing over the decades. Since you can buy replacement part kits for the impeller and related seals, it's important to get the right one, and a number of the sellers on Amazon don't always make clear (or state inaccurately) which kit they are selling. (I've had to send a couple of them back for this reason.) By looking carefully at the model number of your pump to determine which version it is and searching the Little Giant web site, you can discover the appropriate repair kit for your unit. I should add, however, that the pumps have generally given me several years of continuous use before the impeller needs service. The pump itself works well. Note that there is no switch, and the cord, while electrically suitable for outdoor use, is only about 6 feet long. In my application, that means arranging for a switched outlet near the fountain, appropriately protected for a wet location. It's worth noting that there are several different pictures of this pump on the web, and even on Amazon's site. Some show a black unit, some a blue one. In at least one case, the picture shows the outflow pipe (the one that comes out of the side of the impeller housing, on the right side of the pump as you look at the housing. This is wrong -- the picture is inverted, and the pipe is in fact on the left side where it has been in all versions of the pump I have bought over the years. For me, this is important, since I'm replacing the pump in an existing installation and I would rather not have to re-plumb the piping. The pump comes with a snap-on filter screen that covers the inflow pipe. I believe this is intended for use in applications in which the pump is submerged with an unplumbed inflow. In my case, the pump is plumbed, so I don't use this screen and cannot judge its effectiveness. However, in my application I do need to prevent debris in the fountain from entering the pump, and I find it necessary to use a considerably finer mesh screen than is in the snap-on one. This might be a consideration in other situations as well.
