Looks nice but didn’t work
The media could not be loaded. I was super excited to try out these mics but sadly they didn’t work. Everything appeared to charge and looked good to go. But the unit failed to connect to every device I tried it on.The good thing is that the unit looks really nice. I could have gotten a lemon but my unit does not work.

Wouldn’t work so was replaced for free
Update - customer service excellence - 3/23/24Shortly after posting my review I was contacted by BOYA to apologize for the inconvenience when I wasn’t able to get the lightning connector to fit through the port cover on my otter box case and the mfi adapter I tried wouldn’t work.So BOYA offered me a full refund and told me I didn’t need to return the product. When I informed them that I received it free through Amazon vine and a refund wasn’t necessary they instead offered to send me a new one with a usb c connector so I could use with my iPad Pro.So they sent me a new one, in my choice of color, and informed me that I still did not need to return the lightning version. The set comes with the plugin receiver, two mics and two covers for windy recording. Now that I have had a chance to use it a couple times I can say that the quality of the sound is excellent. With the wind screens on you really can’t tell that it’s recording on a windy day.I was disappointed to discover that using this in my iPad disables the speaker output. I was hoping I could use this for zoom meetings for better quality sound but it’s a no go. That isn’t the fault of BOYA - that’s just how iOS works.Given that I don’t do a ton of vlogging I don’t know how much use I will get out of it, but I plan to use it for the purposes of recording live guitar and singing, and it has already worked excellently for recording myself reading books for my kids, and also for ‘dubbing’ audio from other sources, if I can maintain quiet from said children. Though it does appear to have good noise isolation, I have been unsuccessful so far at blocking out the background noise of having kids in proximity. But perhaps that is too much to ask of any noise isolation. As I’ve only tried this once, if I’m able to solve this issue I’ll update, but based on both product quality and customer service I’ve already changed my review to five stars.————-Sadly I was unable to get this to work. The lightning connector is not long enough to plug in through my phone case. I tried using a mifi adapter that works for usb drives and sd cards and powers my phone, but I got nothing with Boya. No pairing. The mics themselves blink blue looking to pair, but the plug in receiver acts dead.Wish I could swap for the usb-c and then at least use in my iPad and laptop.I have it three stars because I can’t get it to work, but not really fair to penalize it with a single star when it would probably work in a different iPhone.

There was a lot of static & interference!
The performance of these were not the best. The sound quality was subpar. If clarity is a factor for you, then I would suggest passing these up, as I experienced a lot of static and interference. Though they were fairly easy to use I think you can find a much better quality product on here, especially for your value of money.Hope this helps.

Perfect for simple interviews/personal recordings, even for startup podcasts!
Wow, I didn’t know I needed this but I am so happy I got it. I am a Communications major in college, and I’ve been interested in doing interviews for journalism articles, etc. and have used the voice memo on my phone before for that, but this is SUCH a game changer. It is so small, extremely easy to use, and it’s just a plug-and-go type of device. As long as you choose the right adapter part, whether usb-c or lightning, you just attach to your phone or device, and start recording using voice memo or whichever program, and that’s it!The recorder parts come with covers to reduce noise, and they do work, but what’s most impressive is the noise cancelling you can turn on/off on the device itself. You just double click and it turns to the green color and you are in noise cancelling mode. It’s so clean and crisp sounding. It literally sounds like you’re in a podcast studio. I tried this out with a few friends and we were all so impressed when we listened back to our funny voice memo and could hear no background noise at all. The clips/magnets are also super high quality and super strong. This feels like it’s built extremely well and like it will last a long time.If you’re interested in podcasting, interviewing, just learning to do more professional voice recording, are a hobbyist just curious about devices like this and want to give it a try, I think these are worth the price. I have not tried many similarly priced products, but I have used pro gear before at my school and while this isn’t as “pro” as the far more expensive voice recording devices, I think it definitely holds its own and is worth $100. Especially if this goes on sale, it’s worth it if you’re wanting to get more into voice recording. This would also be perfect for video’s like reels, TikTok, etc. if that’s something you’re interested in. That’s not why I got it, but I can definitely see how this would be a great product for people that do a lot of social media/video content.

The design of the mics is good but not the audio, I didn't like the color of the windscreens.
I have been doing videography for weddings with a friend but we were having the issue about to capture the audio for the bride mostly because the wedding dress and usually brides reject to use wireless mic, that do not fit with the white color of their wedding dress.I liked this set of 2 mics because of the color and I had a couple items from this brand in the past.I started testing them these mics, and I realized the quality is not so good, and more with the distance, I'm saying a distance of about max 20mts (about 60ft) outdoor, open field, and even so, the audio started to be like "distorted".On these tests that I made, also because of the noise reduction, the sound was worst while I was walking away from the phone.About the design is a little bulky the mics, the good every mic has a magnetic clip to attach to the wedding dress of the bride. What I didn't like is the windscreens included, really because of the color, I couldn't use it for the bride, one in gray color and the other in a pink-yellow. Was useless for my purpose. So I had to deal with the wind because I couldn't use them.
