Great... but far from perfect.
This little unit is great. That's the TL;DR.I'm not going to really focus on the artistic qualities of this unit, but rather its functionality. It does what I need it to do, but I gave four stars instead of five because I feel like it could be better in some key ways.PROS:This unit powers my Klipsch RP600M II Passive bookshelf speakers with aplomb. It easily drives the two speakers and the analog volume knob is a really nice upgrade from the software controls. Very tactile. The speaker mounts are large and sturdy. Perfect if you're like me and like to use banana plugs. It's also really easy to set up, and has been in use non-stop for several months now. I needed better audio quality for video editing and this powers the passive bookshelves pretty much perfectly, as far as I can tell. I'm understand that both the speakers and the amp have a warm sound. Honestly, I don't care to judge that. For now, this thing allows me to have far superior audio quality to what I had before, at a pretty decent price. And it easily drives these small bookshelves loud enough to bother everybody in the house. I almost never go above roughly 25% on the volume. An added bonus of my system's newfound clarity is that lower volume listening is more audible than it was before.CONS:It has been mentioned before, but I'll say it again, the power switch is in a terrible place. it sits between the power cable and the aforementioned speaker ports, which means reaching and searching for the power every single time I want it off or on. Along those same lines, this would do well to have a 1/4 inch jack for headphones, but the least they could do is put the 3.5mm jack either in the front, or on the side, but it's also in back. So every time I want to switch to headphone listening (which is often, since my wife and I sometimes work from home on the same day), I have to go searching for that jack, pick the whole unit up, turn it around and plug it in. I even thought that I'd get around this issue by plugging an extension into it so that I wouldn't have to go behind it as often, but no. There's no output selector, it just automatically defaults to headphones whenever anything is plugged into that jack.So that's it, the annoyances are...well, annoying. But I can live wit them. For the price, I still say this is a pretty great solution for my needs. But with those few changes it could be practically perfect!

Faulty item, NO SELLER RESPONSE
I have it hooked up to two Polk audio RC85i and it sounds great. I recently bought an active edifier 8in sub and when I connect it to the sub out I get a loud humming sound. No audio at all it doesn't play any bass. I tried Bluetooth, RCA into my phone and RCAs coming from a audio techinca record player. All produce the same hum without any audio at all. I then connected the same exact set up to a Fosi Pro amp and it plays perfect.****UPDATE*****I reached out to the manufacturer of this item and haven't gotten a response in over 2 weeks. This is clearly a faulty item. The 80$ amp I tried in comparison sounds the same if not better and has a functional sub out. I have hooked this up to a hybrid tube amp that I paid 120$ for and it sounds awesome. This amp is honestly over priced and the QC is not there. The tubes also came slightly bent so I would look elsewhere if you're looking for a sleek setup. The esthetic sold me on this item but trust that it is not worth it.

Impressive!
It sounds amazing. Company did their homework, I think it sounds on the side of warm, yet transparent and clear.Love the look and feel. Tubes can be purchased for 20$ from Douk. Since the tubes are used in the pre amp stage, they should last a long time.

Nice first try, but things need fixin'
A nice unit, but has three flaws that are difficult to ignore:The power switch is inconveniently located on the back of the unit. This is especially a pain for an amplifier with tubes; it is not good to leave them on continuously. This is the one that really shows lack of foresight: the unit goes into standby mode after only twenty seconds. That's WAY to soon. I spend a lot of time listening to 45s. By the time you remove one record and place the other, it has gone into standby mode. So every time I switch records, I miss the first second of the next 45. Further, the unit's turn-back-on function is not particularly sensitive. If the record has a fade-in, it very abruptly starts, which really diminishes the 45 experience. I wish this had been mentioned in the reviews. Finally, the VU meter barely moves unless you are really cranking it.In sum, and this is so often the case with many products: adequate engineering, poor design.
