JJ Electronics Amplifier Tube (T-6L6GC-JJ-MP)

Noticeable power increase. Replaced Fender Groove tubes. (Fender Blues Deluxe reissue). Amp started making unwanted noise. I think these solved the problem. Nice tubes if they last.

Remember kids:When replacing your Power Output Tubes (such as these) it may be best to have your amp biased/checked for proper plate voltage settings by a qualified service technician!If the settings are too hot, it may sound great but the life of your tubes will be much shorter.Too low and your sound may be brittle or sterile lacking the balls and oomph you like so well.I have 9 Fender Pro Tube amps and have played full time for over 27 years.When choosing between 6L6's and EL34's I tend to go for the 6L6's sound that has a more "American" sounding bottom end, not quite as "woody" as the English overdriven tube sound. The bottom end sounds clearer and more distinct with 6L6's, but there is also a lot to be said about the EL34's, too!Similar to Dell, Gateway, HP, Compaq, etc. not making computers, JJ's does not manufacture tubes, but rather they test and rate them , eventually pairing like kinds within similar tolerances and voltages. This is critical if you have an amp that uses two of these. This will ensure that both sides of the amp output stage are as equal and balanced as possible before any biasing or adjustments.The "burnt silver/black" inside the tube is called the "getter" which is a chemical that is burnt upon first initial firing and burns up any leftover oxygen or air inside the vacuum tube.Very nice price - lower than most other places online!Hope this helps!

Arrived intact in 3 days from the east coast. I am on the west. Excellent packaging. Tubes appears to be procured from and matched by Apexmatching.com with current and transcond information via stickers on the taped together JJ boxes and on the tube bases themselves. Dropped them in, let them warm up, checked for "the glow", hit the standby switch and my 93 Blues Deville 4 x 10 is back in action. Sounds great! Recommended output tube replacements from a great retailer!

I put these in a late-60's Fender Super Reverb that was sorely overdue for new power tubes. Immediately upon firing the amp up with the new tubes installed, I was rewarded with the sonic reminder of just how fantastic this amp sounds.I think these came from an outfit called "Apex," or something like that. I have to say that these two tubes are matched really close to each other, because I had my Bias King installed inline. They might just be the closest matched pair that I've owned to date.Some folks peg the sonics of the JJ 6L6 as being a little flat or 2D or something, but I honestly don't know what they are talking about. I've had some great tubes in this old Super Reverb, and the JJs sound every bit as good. I've also owned a bunch of other types of JJ power tubes, and can say that they've all been both reliable and durable.

About 6 months ago I had to do an emergency run up to the local big house music store and buy a set of their overpriced Grove Tubes after breaking one of my old JJ's. 3 weeks ago I set up to play a small place here in town. I just used my Fender Custom built 2-10" amp with a Bassman chassis. Hooked it all up and was going to warm up and it figured those cheap made Grove Tubes let me down. One of the grids shorted and took some resistors out with it. The JJ's I had in there were around 2 years old and never a problem in any amp I own. I ran home and got my Peavey Classic 4-10" (which also has JJ's in it) and played the night. I repaired the damage to the amp and installed a new set of JJ 6L6GC-JJMP's just as I did before set the bias and the amp sounds wonderful again. I only trust JJ's and Sovtek tubes. Dont waste your $$$ on Grove Tubes!

It sounds nice… my 4* leans into 5. Maybe because I’m not so used to the sound yet. But at the same setting as my old original Fender ones, my Hot Rod Deluxe they sounds thinner.I still could not find my sound yet, but I’m definitely keeping it. If anyone has any tips, it would be greatly appreciated.

I got these to replace some old power tubes in a Hot Rod Deluxe. The old tubes didn’t break up very early and these break up much sooner. They’re very sensitive to your attack and can give you clean, glassy tones or grit and bite. I definitely like these better than the ones I got from a small seller on Reverb.
