I have been looking for a caravan. Sellers quite rightly do not want people turning up with the 'prong' type testers and making lots of holes. But when shown this, they do not mind.This week I have seen 5 caravans, all being sold with 'no damp' only to be proved absolutely wrong when this finds it. This sub £30 gadget has literally saved me thousands. Damp could not be seen nor smelt, it was hidden inside the caravan walls, yet this found it on all 5 caravans. One had 65% damp in one place on a £12,000 caravan. Even the dealer was impressed and ordered one himself there and then!Seriously simple and brilliant tester. 100% recommended.

Excellent bit of kit (so hubby says!)Very reasonably priced. We have used to locate damp patches in both caravans and a camper. Seems to be accurate and has pinpointed those areas which need further investigation.Very easy to use, with clear and bright readings. Responds quickly when placed on testing area. Neat and tidy carry case.Definitely a value for money purchase, especially if you're testing before a big outlay purchase.

Quite a useful device. Far better than devices that use the 2 sharp pins into the wall. This is non piercing and so far has proved to be quite useful and accurate on wallpaper or painted walls.

Great for the price.I have another one that is invasive (with pins) but this is great when you don't want to leave marks.Good visual and noise report.It can show false readings if near metal or wires so your aware, but just used my other one to verify if there were any high readi gs

I read a lot of negative feedback regarding the quality and accuracy of the readings the meter was giving. Quality wise for the price I would say it is fine. there is nothing bad about this if it is for your own DIY needs. For a business use maybe I would go for a better specced one. As for the accuray, I tested the unit in numerous positions and every time the readings were almost spot on every time. occasionally it was 0.1 to 0.2 percent out. The readings are instantaious so no waiting or struggling to get a reading. The other comments were on poorly lit screen. The screen could not be easier to read and is more than bright enough.

This is my second purchase of this pin-less moisture meter in the last month. I bought the second for my daughter who owns a caravan. I compared both meters in exactly the same locations one after the other in about 20 locations in my house. The newest purchased meter readings are approximately 2-3% higher as recorded on the meters. The meter info states an accuracy of plus or minus 4% with something that they consider as accurate. I am a bit disappointed at the difference between the meter readings but I will take this into consideration when I am surveying. I previously had a much more expensive meter with pins that I could calibrate back to a zero starting point; but a pin-less meter gets to the same depth without the holes in the building being surveyed. Overall the meter will give a good indication between dry/ify/wet.
