Great drive... revived a still very good MacBook Pro 13
I've installed at least a dozen laptop batteries, hard drives, swapped RAM, and keep my old computers going longer. Very satisfying and cost-effective. These OWC drives are hard to beat, and their RAM is also very good. This was trivial to install and the computer recognized it immediately. Performance is ridiculously fast.Highly recommended.

Great upgrade for an older MacBook Pro
I used it to replace the hard drive in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro 9,2 following the OWC video instructions and it saved what had become a painfully slow computer and made it useable again. Huge improvement. It has allowed me to wait on buying a new Mac.

Macs on Speed
Installing this OWC 1TB Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD on my 2011, 17" Mac Book Pro was like getting a new Mac. My Mac was running like it has chewing gum in its works and nothing I did helped speed it up. I finally decided to go for a 1 TB SSD and ordered the Mercury Extreme Pro 6G SSD from Amazon. This is the best thing I have done for my Mac since I bought it. No more spinning beach balls and almost instant access to things that used to take many many seconds to open and display. My exciment about the improvement cost me dearly because my wife insisted I buy and install one on her 2012 Mac Book Pro. After about 15 minutes of easy work to install the drive and a few hours for data migration we both have Mac Book Pros that perform like new Macs or what we refer to as "Macs on Speed".

A great contender in the world of SSD
An excerpt of the conclusion from our published story (08/2017):A great contender in the world of SSD. A little pricier than we would expect them to be, and there seems to be a little more GB’s in unaccounted space than we would expect to find. However, the drive is extremely quick, providing you with a lot of upgrade potential depending on how you install it. We got the most of out it installing it internally with a motherboard that supports the latest in SATA (3.0) specs, or using an external Thunderbolt 3.0 solution. The drive would be great for specialty users, such as serious gamers, graphic editing, and video rendering (or anyone else looking for a lot of speed).Ryan Sanders - Editor - Poc Network // Tech
