Catstages Crunchy Pickle Kicker Dental Catnip Cat Toy

I bought one of these a few years ago for an elderly cat to hopefully help with cleaning her teeth due to it saying that the material helped with mild teeth cleaning. Well it didn't work for her because she was a street cat that just has bad teeth. What this little pickle did was give her hours of enjoyment. It has become her favorite toy. When I adopted another neighborhood stray a couple years ago, I got him one. I will say that it does seem to help him with his teeth, as in he bites into it where she likes the grab and kick. They have become so popular that I have donated pickles to my Vet for the cats they have in the office and I have bought some for the clowder of strays that I take care of in the neighborhood. The ones outside have have been through the rain and multiple mouths, but the quality has held up. I don't know what kind of catnip they use, but it must be some good stuff to last as long as it does.

Both my cats enjoyed playing with this catnip toy, although after a while (several days), they only check it out once in a while. I have an 18-year-old male cat and a 16-year-old female. The male has never been very playful, he enjoyed butting this one around, so I was quite pleased. The female likes to bat this toy around at night. Pleased I bought it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is my boy cat’s favorite toy. I don’t know why but we’re in our third replacement (in 4 years, so they do last a while) and every time he’s just as excited about it. I’ve tried other catnip toys and even similar one a from this same brand and none of them hit the same.

I purchased this pickle & a banana with tons of great reviews (even more than the Catstages toys) from a different brand (Yeowwww). Here’s my comparison! TLDR: The pickle wins. The banana didn’t make it.This pickle is the only one that survived the day. In less than an hour the “other brand’s” banana had a giant hole and was leaking catnip everywhere. The pickle has held up well so far to pretty aggressive play, which is awesome because it was half the price! The color has stayed the same (the banana got stained a weird brown color from the catnip) and our cat loved it. The only thing is that his interest has faded as the smell faded, but I’m going to try spraying it with some catnip spray to rejuvenate it.

This is my cats' favorite toy! This is my second purchase. The first one has been very well loved, and continues to be played with, fiercely! It doesn't crinkle much anymore, but it must still have plenty of scent. The new one they could smell through the package.. again! How can you say no to such an amazing toy for such a great price? After all this time, the color has stayed strong, and never ran or stained anything else. Though they play with it so intensely there is merely a rip in the netting on the back. This is a great item that is built very well.

My cats ignored this for 5 months. Then one day I caught him hugging it. I’m not sure what happened, but I have caught him cuddling this bread 3 times in the last month. He hugs, kicks, and cuddles.The pickle used to be a favorite with the boys, but I guess the bread has taken over.

The baby tore into this toy the second it was out of the package. Seriously, I had to cut tags off of a toy that had been slobbered all over by a 5 lb menace. It's held up well too, we've had it for 2-3 weeks now and its still in one piece. Would purchase again!

She loves this toy! This is actually the first time she’s had catnip! I smelled the toy when I first took it out of the package and there’s a good amount of catnip stuffed inside! Her reaction was funny, she kept rolling around in it and biting at it. Toy is well made, and soft (at the top part). I’m definitely gonna buy more of these catnip toys!
