As long as you have enough water pressure, this is a quick and easy way to add a filter to an icemaker. Just cut the existing line and insert each side into the ends of the filter, making sure the water is flowing in the proper direction. It will spit out some black carbon stuff at first so if you can let some water flow out into a bucket before connecting the icemaker side, that will eliminate black ice cubes. Or you can just let it make ice cubes and throw away the first few batches.Works great, ice has no weird taste and it's easy to replace this filter once it stops working well. Simple and effective. There is no mounting hardware included, I just used a piece of metal strap to keep it mounted up against the wall behind my fridge but you could just let it sit there and it will be fine. No leaks at all.

Finally setup on our travel trailer last week. It worked great and is very east to setup. I used this in addition to a filtered water pitcher in order to drink state park water instead of buying bottled water.
