Klein Tools VDV110-261 Twisted Pair Radial Stripper

This is a simple but highly effective tool. It makes stripping cat 6 cables a breeze. No cuts into the wires at all. I normally use dikes to do the same job but sometimes I get too aggressive and I cut into the wires and have to start all over. With this tool I never have to worry because every cut removes just the sleeve.

I've been using a small clothespin-style jacket stripper for a few years. Although it works well, it's small and easy to misplace, and sometimes the adjustable blade moves out of the sweet spot.The Klein tool, by contrast, while not enormous, is larger and bright yellow, which should make it easier to locate on a messy server room floor. Moreover it works exceptionally well with no adjustments necessary.The inner blade is permanently set at a predetermined depth. It's just enough to score the outer jacket of a twisted pair cable without nicking the conductors or even the foil on shielded cables.I initially bought this for a client and ended up liking it so much I bought another for myself.The blue plunger operates on a spring which provides ample closing pressure and is fun to play with to boot.I haven't yet used the top-mounted blade for anything but I might, and in the meantime it doesn't interfere with the core function so it's all good.
