Curls
The Maui Moisture Curl Quench + Coconut Oil Ultra-Hold Gel is a game-changer for my curly hair! It provides the perfect balance of moisture, shine, and hold without the crunchiness that often comes with hair gels. The coconut oil, papaya, and plumeria extracts leave my curls feeling soft, hydrated, and well-defined. I love that it's made with 100% aloe vera as the first ingredient, which keeps my hair healthy and nourished. Plus, it's free from parabens, silicones, and sulfates, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a natural, gentle product. It's so easy to use—just rake it through my hair, and I’m good to go. Highly recommend for anyone with thick, curly hair looking for a reliable styling product!

Thick and works okay.
So far I have only used the gel once so I am still getting used to it. It’s very thick and sparkly but doesn’t seem to make my hair sparkly, which is good. I would prefer it was in a tube container because this is messier to get out. It seems to work alright on my wavy hair, but I do think Beautiful Curls works better albeit that is a more expensive product. The pictures of my hair in the review are when I first put it on, after I plopped and then hours later after all the crunch had left my hair. It is a good product but I do wonder if there’s something else better.

Madly in love with this product, good for 2b-3a curls
I’ve been using Maui Moisture conditioner and shampoo lines for a couple of years now (curly girl method = no ‘cones or sulfates), but this is the first time I’ve used this curl gel. I bought the mousse at the same time and used it a few times before giving this gel a try today. The mousse was fine but a bit light for my hair. It looked soft and a bit flat and frizzy. I read this Curl Quench was heavier/thicker and today was a shampoo day so I decided “what the heck.” It took a while to dry, but once I scrunched out the casts — holy smokes! My curls are a mix of 2b, 2c, and 3a, and now my new gray parts are so loose they’re practically in the 1 category. It looks like this Curl Quench is even getting those straighter gray spots to behave themselves. Since today was a shampoo day, my hair was already a bit "lighter/drier" than usual. I can't wait to see how my curls react tomorrow!Curly friends with thicker hair, especially curls that misbehave: this might be your product! The first two photos are right after I scrunched (casts were still a tiny bit damp). The third photo was about 10 hours later to show how the curls fluffed out. Tomorrow I'm going to be a lot more careful how I twist to make sure the curl pattern is better -- there were some crazy pieces, but I think that was me being sloppy when it was still wet. I'm not used to "super hold."*Update* I discovered a slight downside: this product really doesn’t rinse out very well and so there is buildup after a few days (I have to re-wet my curls every morning). An extra shampoo day every week is still worth the curls I get with this gel.

Not natural by any means but it does work
I bought this before knowing much about healthy ingredients, so I didn't realize it has several potentially harmful ingredients in it. The scent is a strong coconut scent. The jar lasts a very long time. The gel works pretty well and doesn't really create a cast (a plus for some, a negative for others).

I don’t want to use anything else
I love this hair product. It smells amazing. Great hold, no crisp, and it’s not too heavy for my fine hair. Frizz will always be present with natural curls, but it does the job. It’s honestly the best product I’ve used. Worth the $$$However, they sent the wrong product last time. There are many reviews stating this as well. They sent a cream, which I cannot use because it contains ingredients I’m allergic too 🤷🏻♀️ sad.

Feeling guilty...
for getting this for free. I complained enough to Amazon that a gel can't be moisturizing and offer any kind of hold on or to the hair. But after using it enough times, my hair grew without breakage. I truly am impressed with the quality of this product because I feel the aloe vera in it and in my hair! This gel makes the hair look "exotic" like it would in Hawaii. Its not super sticky either. No-brainer: hence the hair-care line is named MAUI.The gel has hints of glitter in it and I'd assume is kid-friendly!
