Mistress Of The Apes

Acting quality in this movie was just awful..the plot was unrealistic,.. but was still a decent watch. The quality and quick delivery of this product was excellent.

Totally bad, but about a medium on the so bad it's good scale. At 54:00, the movie breaks out in a 70s funk tune while the girl on the box cover eats a banana to convince the missing link native guys to trust her. Of course she has sex with one of them, and of course it's least sexy sex in the history of cinema. She doesn't even take her clothes off. A couple uncomfortable implied rape scenes takes the fun out of it, not to mention way too little nudity, but what are you gonna do. Fun party movie to laugh at the absurdity.

Susan (Jenny Neumann) takes off to the Congo to find her missing husband Earl. She joins with David (Walt Robin) a hunter, and an apparently old boyfriend and his wife Laura (Barbara Leigh). Susan seems to like the Paul (Garth Pillsbury) the group leader as she looks for her husband. The safari is being followed by poachers and Susan is also looking for ape-men from pictures obtained from a "found footage" photos of Earl's camera.The story is an MST dream. The Congo jungle was shot in Kenya, but at no time does it look remote. The scenes were fairly stupid and the sound track made me laugh. The description was misleading, as is the cover. The acting was bad. The mistakes were so numerous in the first 12 minutes, and none of the action shown had anything to do with the storyline. Dialog was cheesy. The science was bad, or non existent. I skipped thru it, hoping it got better, but it did not. I'd give this a negative if I could, so a 1* will have to do.

After viewing a great movie "Tarzan The Ape man" with actress Bo Derek, I turned around looking for a similar one.Alas, this movie with actress Barbara Leigh is a re-make of a vintage film. The lighting, picture and sound effectsare very poor. No romantic scenes at all.Hunters or explorers can be good or bad guys. This female explorer narrates and records life of cavemen. Forwhatever reasons, she chooses this raw and simple life style. She decides to stay with cavemen in the jungleregardless of dangerous tigers and crocodiles.This movie is rated "R". Not because of few shots of breasts. But because of brutal hammering scenes, I think.Love making scenes are brief and imaginary. No explicit actions seen. In short, This movie nowadays may berated "PG".

This is not a bad movie to watch.. It's fairly good. I would recommend it as a movie to watch with no kids around.
