I got this for my nine-year-old and It’s not page upon pages of writing. It’s silly questions, and check boxes. There’s one word answer lists like what’s your favorite day of the week? Or what’s your favorite dinosaur?I bought it hoping my son and I could have a way to open conversations, and it has worked spectacularly.

My 10th at old son absolutely loves this is. He’s excited to fill out the pages everyday. We bond over getting to know each other and laugh.

This has been a great bonding activity. My 9-year-old son is a hesitant writer, and these fun prompts and activities have him entertained and willing to write. The nice thing is that you don't have to go in order. I let him pick out the pages he wants to do with me and off we go. We just do a few pages at a time, but the time spent together is truly priceless. This is, by far, one of my favorite activities to do together!

I bought it because my 9 y/o is slowly turning into a teenager and doesn’t want to talk much. This journal gets him talking and he looks forward to write in it at the bus stop every morning. Love the variety of activities. You’re not just writing notes back and forth.

Love this got it for my 11 yr old and he’s having fun with writing and talking about our likes and dislikes. Good bonding experience.

Bought this to see if we'd use it or not. After opening it and looking at various pages I got to work filling out some pages. My son (who is almost 13) is even looking forward to filling this book out. Definitely a great thing to do to spend more quality time with your son. It helps each of us to get to know one another better which is awesome. Definitely a GREAT purchase!

My 8 yr old jumped right in, my 14 yr old less enthusiastic but still getting into it. This is a very fun book and a way to connect with your kid and show them more of yourself while seeing more of them you may not know! Love it.

My son and I have been passing back and forth for a few weeks, one statement at a time. We take turns on who answers first. I love seeing his crazy creativity and imagination at some of the fun questions. I love seeing his thoughts/emotions on some of the thought-provoking questions, even when you know your child is hurting over something. At least there is an outlet to tell me things, he feels he CAN'T speak about.I wish there was this SAME journal for Daughters/Mothers.

Exactly as shown, cute prompts for younger children as well as preteens. Will definitely be ordering more for my "boy mom" friends :)
