OWC Mercury Pro Multi-Interface Optical Drive External Enclosure

It Works. The fan makes an awful sound so I unplugged it with the hope that it will not over heat . I just don't think it will. The sound is not too loud so that you can hear it over the sound of your speakers , however when you do hear it it is annoying. The USB cord is Way to short. I did not measure exactly before writing this but it is no more that 18 inches. It has to sit right next to your PC unless you buy a new cord. The construction is plastic and designed so that the hooks that attach the top to the base cover 2 of the screw holes to mount the drive in the enclosure. Mounting it with 6 screws is fine though I guess. But is does work. However at this price point I wound expect at least a longer cord and a better cooling solution and maybe at least some aluminum. But there simple are not many choices out there and this enclosure will do the job.

Easy to install and it works perfectly.
