Affordable. Very easy to use and clean
I love to cook and this is the first time that I experiment with a smoke infuser so I chose simple recipe for a smoked peach and jalapeño cocktail to test it out. This little gadget was very easy to use and very affordable for the results that you can accomplish. It takes 4 AA batteries to power it and practically a pinch of wood shavings to infuse one serving generously. It is important to note that this product does not come with a dome as it is demonstrated in the product image. That is merely a suggested way of use.Actually, a dome would limit the endless ways that this smoke infuser could be used. So think outside box!In this case, I put the diced fruit in a mason jar and sealed the opening with press n seal plastic wrap. I poked the infuser nozzle through a small opening to allow the smoke to flow through for a couple of minutes. Then I sealed it completely and allowed the fruit to steep in the smoke for 5-7 minutes. Then, I added the rest of the ingredients and some ice into the jar and sealed it with the lid. All I had to do was shake the jar and pour my cocktail into a cool glass. The result was amazing! It added a natural smokey touch which resulted in a drink with complex layers of flavors that is sure to impress at my next gathering. I can't wait to try it on another recipe.

convenient size and packs a big punch of flavor
This small and portable smoke infuser helps me add mesquite flavor to my ribeye steaks. I spend a lot of time on the road outdoors so I like the compact size for use in my camper. I used ziplock bags as I already have my steaks prepped in bags to travel. This worked great! If I used this regularly at home I would purchase the dome top. This unit does not come with wood chips so be prepared that you will have to purchase those. I got mine from Walmart initially and the size was just too big to fit comfortably inside the chamber. I recommend searching for the smaller sized micro chips and they are available on Amazon. This unit needed cleaning after multiple uses as you would with any other smoker and I used a pipe cleaner and it easily removed any leftover residue. This is my first portable smoker and I’m going to purchased two more .... one for each of my brothers who both are master grillers so they can experience the same I have. I haven’t tried to smoke cheese yet but plan on that next.

Pretty good.
Satisfied customer here. This smoker is easy to use, and puts out a lot of smoke. You only need a pinch of shredded wood and get enough smoke to fill a cake tin sized container. The instructions tell you to limit your burn to 30 seconds. That is plenty. I suppose you could really pack the bowl and get a longer burn, but it is not needed, and other reviews here suggest that it could damage your smoker.Good choice to trying out a smoker for the first time. Good choice for filling a meat container with smoke and sealing the lid. Think marinade/smoke before cooking. Not a good choice for adding smoke to a meat cooker of any kind. (BBQ Grill, etc...) Not a good choice for any application needing constant smoke over a long period of time.

Compact, Easy to Use, and Great Price!
If you're someone who's new to cold smoking or curious about cold smoking, this is the product to get! It is compact, simple to use and very affordable. Most important of all, it gets the job done!It may not have the features of a commercial handheld cold smoker, but it also has none of the complexities of one either, nor the price tag.For the size comparison, it's also smaller, so much easier to store or carry around, plus with less parts to put together, meaning less confusions.Lastly I love that it lays flat on the table!

OIly stinky trash
Do you like the taste of smoked plastic? You'll love this piece of trash. I used fine smoking chips, using apple and maple. Both had a tremendously synthetic taste. The tube, when cleaning it, maintained a sticky residue, indicating it is no where near food grade. I tried giving it a good cleaning, and had the same results. This seems like a stupid stoner toy from a head shop that got repurposed. Total crap, and the fan sticks and jams. Don't waste your money. Background, I have both electric and stick burning smokers, and wanted something for cold smoking cheeses and cocktails. End result, I just threw this thing out.

Easy to use, great gift!
The media could not be loaded. This little smoker is great, only takes 4 AA batteries to use. Portable and handheld works great to make my hubby a smoked old fashioned at home! Great birthday present. Only downside is that the hose doesn't come with a tip for the end to go into a dome or lid... had to use a pen casing as a makeshift tip.

smoke show with T.L.C.
Good product for price point, makes smoke, but this unit I purchased Had a loose fitting smoke chamber to the fan/battery/motor section, so I, prior to using, added a thin coating of polyurethane patch compound to matting flange on all four sides of motor section leaving smoke box left off during this and let dry overnight. unit has nice seal with smoke box still removable for cleaning.

Maximum value, minimum price
This smoke infuser is the fanciest, nonessential kitchen gadget I've ever purchased and I LOVE IT. My original plan was to smoke cheese, chocolate chips and homemade potato chips for party platters and not only was it a success, I want to play around with it more. The instructions aren't very clear at first but with a little trial and error, I figured out that the device is basically a pipe with a fan. Two AA batteries and boom, you're ready to infuse. It's a little tricky getting the kindling to ignite with the device on, but the long-handled lighters or long matches work best for a prolonged, sustained flame. Tea, any dried herb, prepared wood chips (hickory is my favorite) work and you don't need to smoke your food items for very long. 2-3 minutes tops. The infused smoke is like a course salt sprinkled on top of a dish. It's a nice addition that really enhances the food you're smoking.
